Today, I’m excited to introduce and welcome Amy Bobrick to Merkle RMG as our vice president of strategy. In this newly created role, Amy will lead our efforts to develop innovative back-end solutions that help nonprofits get maximum value from the interactions and data captured during donation processing. She’ll advise on turning data into powerful insights and tactical programs that improve donor engagement and strengthen clients’ overall fundraising strategies.
Harnessing the Hidden Power of Donor Data
There’s a wealth of data available on the back end of donation processing, but many nonprofits don’t take advantage of its full potential. That’s a missed opportunity to make data-driven decisions that could greatly improve donor retention and lifetime value. Recognizing this challenge, we decided to hire a VP of strategy to help us create offerings that allow nonprofits to use this information and the touch points that occur during donation processing more effectively. That’s where Amy comes in.
Amy brings nearly a decade of experience working with nonprofits and developing direct mail, telemarketing and online fundraising strategies. Most recently, she served as a fundraising consultant at multiple integrated marketing agencies. She shares our view that nonprofits need to take a more strategic, data-centric approach to increasing donor retention. In her words:
“Throughout my experience with nonprofits, I noticed too large an emphasis on donor acquisition and saw retention treated as a one-size-fits-all challenge,” Amy said. “At Merkle RMG, there’s an opportunity to use valuable back-end data to tackle this pervasive challenge. Seemingly basic information that first-time donors provide can reveal valuable insight into the best next steps for building a relationship with that person. My goal at Merkle RMG is to change how nonprofits interact with supporters to create a stronger impact on their overall missions.”
Amy’s acumen enriches Merkle RMG’s best-practice expertise, making us an even stronger strategic partner to our nonprofit clients.
Sharing Our Expertise
With Amy on board, we’re glad to announce the upcoming launch of Merkle RMG’s new blog platform where the Merkle team will write about the topics we care deeply about: fundraising industry insights and organizational leadership. My new colleague Amy will be a frequent contributor to our new blog “Pushing the Envelope”, which will offer strategic perspectives on fundraising best practices and new opportunities in the industry. Meanwhile, “Bill’s Big Blog” will become “Leading with Care” — where I, along with other Merkle RMG voices, will share insights on topics like conscientious leadership, employee spotlights, and corporate culture.
This new format allows us to offer more content on a range of key topics, while making it easier for our readers to find posts on issues they care about most.
These are exciting times at Merkle RMG! Stay tuned as we share more updates, and check back to read Amy’s first blog post under “Pushing the Envelope” launching next week.
