06/14/2020: COVID-19 Direct Mail Fundraising Report
As the urgency around the impact of COVID-19 has lessened, Merkle RMG will publish the Impact Report twice a month--once at the beginning and once mid-month. This updated report includes 2019 and 2020 transactions from February 1st through June 14th. The next report will be published sometime the week after the Fourth of July and will close out June.
05/31/2020: COVID-19 Direct Mail Fundraising Report
This report closes out May 2020 and marks three-months since the onset on the coronavirus pandemic in the US. There have been ups and downs, but May ended on a high note with strong performance across each nonprofit sector. Giving behaviors and trends are beginning to emerge, unique to each sector. It was another week where revenue in the health sector was driven by donations, as average gift dipped a bit. That sector and the arts and culture sectors will be interesting to watch in the coming weeks. This updated impact report includes 2019 and 2020 transactions from February 1 through May 31. The next report with the first week of June will be available Monday, June 8.
05/24/2020: COVID-19 Direct Mail Fundraising Report
The updated Impact Report includes 2019 and 2020 transactions between February 1 and May 24. There was a slight contraction in revenue this week; the health sector experiencing the greatest change. For the industry, and the health sector, a drop in average gift caused this decline. The industry remains ahead of 2019, but this week's revenue dip should not be ignored. The next update will be published on June 1 closing out May.
05/17/2020: COVID-19 Direct Mail Fundraising Report
The updated impact report includes 2019 and 2020 transactions from February 1 to May 17. The upward trends for the industry and each sector continue. Nearly all sectors have exceeded 2019 revenue for the reporting period. Next week's report will be published on Wednesday, May 26, due to the Memorial Day holiday.
05/10/2020: COVID-19 Direct Mail Fundraising Report
This week's report should look familiar, but additional content has been added. The nonprofit industry and each sector section includes charts for cumulative donations and revenue for the reporting period. An appendix with sector comparisons can be found at the end of the report. Appropriate commentary is included to provide context around some of the metrics and trends. This week's report includes 2019 and 2020 transactions from February 1 through May 10. An updated report is scheduled for Monday, May 18 and will include transactions from May 11-17.

April 2020 closed ahead of April 2019 in donation volume, revenue, and average gift. This report include transactions from the first week of February through the first week of May. The next update will be published on May 11 including transactions through May 10.
04/26/2020: COVID-19 Direct Mail Fundraising Report
Transactions included in this report are from February 3, 2020 through April 26, 2020. For most of the sectors there were some small year-over-year and week-over-week gains. The Human Services sector had the greatest donation revenue year-over-year increase this past week. The next week's report will be published on Monday, May 4 including transactions through May 3.

The updated impact report includes transactions from the first week of February through the third week of April. Some formatting changes were made to the charts to accommodate the growing number of weeks this report covers. The next update will be published on Monday, April 27.

This is the fourth installment of our Impact Report with transactions from February 3 - April 5, 2020. There were similar trends as the fourth week of March, but some sectors had week-over-week increases in donation mail volume. The next report will be published next Monday, April 13 with transactions through April 12.
